My love for art first started…

when I was introduced to paper mâché. There was just something so fascinating to me about mixing the paste and then dipping cut up newspaper strips into the mixture and placing them on a balloon of all things. I fell in love with this process that was just so messy, so imperfect and just so fun! My mother, on the other hand, didn't like this mess at all! I was told repeatedly, “no paper mâché making allowed in the house!” I loved it too much to stop so I would pack a suitcase with all the supplies I needed and head down the street to our neighborhood cul de sac where I could make my art and my mess. I knew, as I child, that I needed art, but growing up it felt like there was no place for art. Well, many, many years later I'm thrilled to be making plenty of space for art in my life. I'm constantly creating, constantly making a mess, and constantly smiling in my own little art room. No one can stop me now. I have a Masters Degree in School Counseling, Expressive Arts training, and am a SoulCollage® Facilitator. My little side kick, Melo the pug, is my number one fan.
